Michelle Small, 36, of Wyoming, was caught on CCTV losing control of her car at around 2.05am on Tuesday August 9, crashing into Ed's Chicken & Crabs restaurant, causing a fire.

The MINI was going so fast it severed a propane line and lodged itself in the restaurant's kitchen. Police say officers had to break the car's windows to rescue Small moments before the building caught fire.

The restaurant was engulfed in flames, burning into a crispy shell and $75,000 worth of damage. Owner Ed Riggin said "I don't think I'll ever rebuild. That's it, I think," the 83-year-old Riggin said. "It's time to get out anyway. I didn't like doing it like this, though."

Rob Jones caught the moment on his home security camera.

Sergeant Clifford Dempsey said Small has been charged with drunken driving and other motor vehicle offenses. She was first treated at the scene for minor injuries, but while she was in custody at the Dewey Beach Police Department, she became unresponsive and was taken by ambulance to Beebe Medical Center.
