Thought all of the Mini based cars had been featured in Jeroen Booij’s Maximum Mini (2009) and Maximum Mini 2 (2014)? Wrong.
Jeroen has now comes up with Maximum Mini 3 – the final book of cars based on the original Mini, describing another 397 vehicles, all of them Mini-based and all of them different to the ones in the earlier books.
It’s no surprise then that Maximum Mini 3 features some true obscurities. You’ll find Mini-powered fire engines, Can-Am-style racers, ice cream vans and coachbuilt variants by Bertone, Chapron, Michelotti, Pininfarina and Vanden Plas. Other oddities include a gyroscopically stabilized two-wheeler made by an ex-Duesenberg designer and a rocket scientist, a three-wheeler that was built by the chief stylist of Rolls-Royce in his spare time or a chain-driven tracked vehicle built for a 1965 Antarctic expedition.
Apart from the UK the vehicles originate from Australia, Barbados, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malta, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Petit Saint Vincent, Portugal, Scotland, South-Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay and the US.

Protects starters and other components from the damaging effect of heat soak. Packing a lot of power into a small engine bay can also mean trapping a lot of heat in there as well and that heat can have a detrimental effect on components such as starter motors.
America's Design Engineering Inc. has just introduced a new Starter Shield specifically designed for smaller starters as found on European and Japanese four cylinder engines.
The mini Versa Starter Shield (don't read too much into the 'Mini' name - it works fine on Minis but fits a lot more besides) is made from an aluminised heat reflective material backed with a high temperature rated glass fibre insulation barrier.
The mini DEI Versa Shield™ protects starters and other components from failure due to heat soak. It is capable of reflecting radiant heat up to 2000°F (approx 1100°C) and direct heat up to 500°F (approx 260°C).
Its convenient hook and loop closure allows the shield to wrap around the starter and attach in minutes. Most starters will not require removal. Simply wrap the starter with the aluminised side out, trim length to fit and secure the edges by pressing the black loop material into the sewn-in strip of black hook material.

This load cover has an internal frame with captive 8mm fixings in place to allow fitting with a hinge system.
The Hinge system used on this pick-up is Rover 75 Saloon boot hinges with a 10mm spacer on the pick-up body. We do not supply the hinges or spacer.
