WEEKEND PREVIEW: March 18-20

Welcome back to our (hopefully) regular weekend previews. As the events season starts to rumble into action, we'll be giving you the heads-up on what's coming up this weekend. Of course you can always visit our What's On page to see for yourself and get more notice of some of the bigger events.

Last weekend saw the first bit of motorsport get underway with the Rallycross Championship beginning in earnest. Our new Rallycross reporter/driver, Todd Crooks didn't have his MINI ready in time for the first event but his mum was out in a classic Mini, so keep your eyes peeled for that report.

The third Cheddar Run also took place over the weekend, with, what began as a group of friends going for a quiet drive, now appealing to those from neighbouring counties and are turning out in force - read the review here.

UPCOMING:

The weekends will get businer, but at the moment we've just got two events taking place:

MARCH 19
Super Cooper Cup - Donington Park
The fresh young upstart that looks to rival the popular MINI Challenge series is a cheaper amd alternative option of racing the new MINI - but limited to the 1st Gen MINIs (R50, R53).
Now in its third year, its appeal is becoming greater as the price of MINIs fall. With limited modifications allowed, to keep costs down, drivers can use their road car to compete!
If it sounds of interest, why not head to the track this weekend and check it out.

MARCH 20
HRCR Mini Cup - Weston Park
Back once again representing the love:mini team on the dirt and asphalt is rally legend Clive King. Clive has been writing for love:mini for many years now and will again be telling us all about his exciting adventures in the wild with his classic Cooper S. Weston Park is the first venue of the season if you want to head on down and get close to the action and see how a real Mini should be driven!
