HRCR Old Stager to launch at British Motor Museum

The HRCR 2016 Old Stager Asphalt Stage Rally Championship incorporating the Mini Sport Mini Cup will be launched at the HRCR Open day at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon on Jan 16th 2016. Incorporating seven rounds starting with the AGBO at Weston Park on the 20th March and finishing at the Rally Isle of Man on 15-17th September.

The decision was taken to move the championship over to an all Asphalt championship to encourage more Cat one cars out following the MSA’s recent seeding changes in forestry events.

John Hunt, Championship Secretary “With all the changes taking place with seeding rules on forestry rounds we are seeing declining numbers on events, so we decided to move the championship to less damaging venues, where seeding placing does not effect performance of the cars. We are trying to bring the clubman rallying back for the Cat one cars and join in where we left off in 2015 with number raising in the other categories.”

After a successful first year with the Mini Cup, Mini Sport will continue their support in 2016, with new classes and hopefully more Minis to be brought out of retirement and entered into the championship in 2016.

The AGBO stages have confirmed their attendance at the open day, when entries will open and they would remind competitors that the entries usually fill within three days of the regulations going out.

Rounds confirmed so far are:

March 20th     AGBO Stages at Weston Park
May 1st          Dixies Challenge Epynt
May 28th        Red Dragon IT Stages Down Ampney
June 12th       Garth Tyres Caerwent
