TECH: Magnetagz badges installation

Get yourself a Magnetagz badge kit and add a little more customisation to your Mini. Suitable for both classic and New Mini, there is a badge for everyone and also the option for custom badges too. It's dead cheap and easy and is a great way to reflect your moods or interests - whatever you fancy really!!

Here's a quick guide to show you how easy it is to instal your own Magnetagz badge.

The nice chaps at Magnetagz were even able to do a custom design of the love:mini logo - they could probably do the same for you and your club too.

In our kit we received the mounting plates, nuts and bolts, a pair of sleeves for the bolts and a selection of badges with a storage case.

1. Open the bonnet.

2. Put the two bolts through larger mounting plate.

3. Find the best location for the Magnetagz on your Mini's grille. We slid the two bolts either side of a support to help secure it.

4. Slide the protective sleeves on to the bolts from the rear of the grille.

5. Ensure the sleeves are pushed up to the front mounting bracket to ensure no rubbing damage on the grille.

6. Guide the bolts through the rear mounting plate and then screw on the nuts by hand.

7. After checking the position of the mounting kit is ok, tighten up the nuts with a 10mm spanner.

8. On the front make sure the bolts are flush to the mounting plate. If they extrude the badges could fall off. You will need an allen key to fully tighten up the nuts and bolts.
