MINI VP Sebastian Mackensen doesn't know what Mini means...

MINI senior vice president Sebastian Mackensen is a bit of a numpty as he doesn't seem to realise what the word 'Mini' means...

As rightly highlighted by AutoEvolution, the company has been taking a bashing for releasing ever-increaingly larger models.

“I'm not sure who set the traditional size limits for what a MINI should be? Mini doesn't have to mean small in size. We shouldn't limit ourselves [..]"

"Personally, I believe that a MINI is more than just a car. There are brand lines set by traditionalists and historic customers and I respect that but at the same time the world moves on. Things develop in every walk of life."

How many times have people come up to you and said, "It's not a Mini."  Regardless of it newer German ownership, the fact is, if MINI had kept their cars small they would not have taken as much flak. But hey, why on earth would the voice of consumers matter when there is money to made and a brand to be exploited.
