MINI: No bigger MINIs in pipeline

MINI chief designer, Anders Warming, has reassured Mini fans that there are no longer any plans to introduce a seven-seater MINI MPV, and that the MINI Countryman will remain the largest vehicle in the MINI stable.

Speaking to Auto Express he said: "We won’t build anything bigger than the Countryman, not at this moment. You should be able to park a Mini in a city, so a Countryman or this new Clubman is as big as it should be."

The comment will be of great relief to many who think the brand has already made the new cars too big and are moving away from the ethos of the original Mini.

The news also comes amid speculation that the range of MINIs available will be trimmed down in future as the 3rd Generation of MINIs get redesigned and come into production.
