On March 28, a potential 14 crews will head to Dolgellau to contest the first round of the The HRCR Mintex ‘old STAGER’ Championship 2015, incorporating the Mini Cup and HRCR Imp Cup.
The rally based at Dolgellau will be using the famous rally driver and bus driver, Gywndaff Evans, Ford dealership as a HQ, signing on and the Farmers' market as the service area and scrutineering for the duration of the event.
There will be designated spectators stages and the rally will be using many famous stages including Big Ray and Dyfi. The stages have been described as the best they have ever been.
The Mini Cup has a good entry for the first round, which should see good competition, and close stage times being achieved by all the crews.
Latest championship registrants Eric Davis and co-driver Russell Joseph will be in his Clubman. Clive King will have Anton Bird sat in with him and Andrew O’Hanlon and James Crook will be making a return to the championship. Bruce Mills and Paul Kendrick, Shane Gamble and Jonny ‘TAD’ Evans, Paul Price and Phil Swanborough will complete the Mini showcase line-up.
The event will start at 0900 hrs on the Saturday morning with start ramp in the town centre. It will finish around 14:30 on Saturday afternoon. This event is the first of four rounds to be televised as part of the Special Stage Extra program series.
