We've all seen those little electric MINIs for kids... they look cute enough, expensive enough, but like an entry-level MINI, it has no power. 

However, one doting parent was frustrated that his daughter couldn't even drive the little pink car on the grass because of its poor 6v motor.

Dad, Richard Whelan, sought to overcome this obstacle by modding the Mini (it's what they were made for!) and install a more powerful motor from a remote controlled car.
