If
the idea of a bank holiday weekend spent admiring beautiful classic
cars in stunning surroundings sets your pulse racing, then Ripon Race
Course on Sunday 1st May is the place to be.
Listen
to the purring of excellently restored engines and admire the
beautifully waxed bodywork of over 400 classic cars, vintage vehicles
and timeless transport at this long established show (now in its 14th year).
Nestled
in the heart of North Yorkshire, just 11 miles north of Harrogate, The
Ripon Spring Classic Car, Bike Show and Autojumble is a chance for
visitors to get up close to classic cars, bikes, vans, 4 x 4’s, trucks, ex-military and commercial vehicles.
For
petrolheads, classic enthusiasts and family visitors alike, there’s
the chance to speak to exhibitors about their passion, as owners of
classic MGs, Triumph Stags, Austin Seven’s, Land Rovers and more will
be proudly presenting their treasured automobiles. There’s also a huge
autojumble, trade stands, the motor awards and an arena with
commentaries throughout the day.
The
pedigree of motoring events, Mark Woodward’s shows are always well
supported by exhibitors and attended by visitors. This is the first
classic car show of the year and plans are already coming to fruition
for his return to Ripon on August’s bank holiday weekend.
He
said “I organise 18 different shows but there’s always an extra
excitement surrounding the first one of the year. This year I’ll be
spending both the first and last bank holidays at one of the most
beautiful racecourses in the country. It’s the one day where instead of
the thundering of horses hooves, Ripon is filled with the equally
dominating roar of engines and even after all these years – it still
gives me a buzz!”
Ripon
Racecourse is commonly known as the Garden Racecourse and is located in
one of the most beautiful and oldest cities in England, making this
historic event even more apt! So rumble down to Ripon next month and
take in the smells, sights and sounds of transport from a bygone era.
