It will consist of seven rounds around the United Kingdom consisting of mostly one day events allowing a for a fun and affordable way into Historic Stage Rallying.The decision was taken to move the championship over to an all asphalt championship to encourage more Cat one cars out following the MSA’s recent seeding changes in forestry events.
It will be open to the four Historic Categories’ Cat 1, Cat 2, Cat 3, and Cat 4 and will follow the MSA Historic Rules and regulations, more technical advice and information can be found at www.hrct.co.uk. This will allow an open and fair playing field for every clubman who may have a Historic Rally car and fancies having a go. A Separate award will be given to each Category with no overall winner.
After a successful first year with the Mini Cup, Mini Sport will continue their support in 2016, with new classes and hopefully more Minis to be brought out of retirement and entered into the championship in 2016. To encourage more participation there will be an additional class for any Classic Mini that does not comply fully with historic regulations to compete.
The Championship will launch at the HRCR Open day on Jan 16th 2016 at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon with the following events making up the Championship.
Round 1 Saturday 20th March - AGBO Stages, Weston Park, Shropshire
Round 2 Sunday 1st May- Dixies Historic Challenge, Epynt
Round 3 Saturday 28th May - Red Dragon IT Stages, Down Ampney
Round 4 Sunday 12th June - Garth Tyre and Auto Services Midsummer
Round 5 Saturday 6th August - Carfax Throckmorton Stages, Pershore.
Rounds 6 & 7 Thursday 15th – Saturday 17th September - Rallyee Classicagh Caerwent, Monmouthshire
