Seven classic Minis up for auction

14:50
Classic Car Auctions’ final sale of the year, which takes place at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre just outside Leamington Spa, this Saturday 5th December.

1960 Austin Seven 850 Saloon
Lot: 105
Est. Sale Price:
£6,000 - £8,000

Offered for sale is a .848L 1960 Austin Seven Saloon manual that has been with the current owner for the last 43 years. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores 50 / 135.

Classic Car Auctions says:
"Barn Find"? Not really, this wonderful little Austin Seven was registered to a lady in Worcestershire in 1960 and used until 1972, when it was passed onto her nephew who was employed at the Mini plant at Longbridge. At that point it was showing 39,000 miles and has never been on the road since! This car is a gem of a find and really only requires minor works to put it back on the road, unless a full restoration is what you had in mind. Structurally, we are led to believe it is very sound as are the 'A' panels and the other traditionally vulnerable body areas. It comes with an original service booklet and many receipts for works completed during its time on the road. There are many newspaper cuttings featuring 562 DFK, but more importantly the Buff Logbook is with the car confirming its ownership history. This charismatic Mini is certainly one for the collector and is a sound investment if the current enthusiasm for early cars continues.

Offered for sale is a 1.275L 1996 Rover Mini Sprite automatic that has been with the current owner for the last 2 years. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores 93 / 135.

Classic Car Auctions says:
This bright Mini Sprite was purchased new by the vendors mother in 1996, and was passed down a couple of years ago, at which point (2014) it benefitted from some light renovation to bring it right up to date. Having travelled only 33,000 miles it has been gently used, but the vendor now finds the car a little small which is the only reason for the sale. Come on, everyone loves a Mini!

1977 British Leyland Mini Clubman
Lot: 148
Est. Sale Price:
£7,000 - £9,000

Offered for sale is a 1.1L 1977 British Leyland Mini Clubman 1100 manual. Coming with an extensive history file, this lot's condition scores an impressive 97 / 135.

Classic Car Auctions says:
Just 8,760 miles from new... A highly original 1977 Mini Clubman.

Originally registered on 31 Oct. 1977, this Russet Brown Mini was sold by Mann Egerton Ltd, Bishops Stortford on 14 Oct 1977 to Miss S Bradford. The car was resold on 28 April 1978 to her friend Miss D R Godfrey, Seven Kings, Ilford because Miss Bradford had received a company car. Garaged in 1985 by Miss Godfrey when she stopped driving, she is said to have put the car away and never used it again. At that time, the car had covered a mere 8,703 miles. She taxed it for 1986, but the tax disc was never used and is still with the car documents in the original square perforated paper.

The car was taken out for the first time and put back on the road this year with a new MoT certificate issued in August 2015, with no advisories.

Safety related running gear (brake parts, headlights, tyres etc) we are told have been replaced. The fuel had solidified in the tank and a new petrol tank has been purchased and fitted. Almost all of these new parts are said to be original pattern from Moss Europe, the classic car specialists.

With the car are all MoTs from when it was on the road, service records, original BL handbook, the original keys and fob and the 1986 tax disc in its perforated paper. Essentially original with even its period working BL Motorola radio, this 38 years old / 8,760 miles Mini is said to drive wonderfully.

Offered for sale is a 1.3L 2000 Rover Mini Cooper Sport manual. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores an impressive 107 / 135.

Classic Car Auctions says:
Just 16,699 miles and one registered keeper. This Mini Cooper Sport is finished in Tahiti blue with contrasting black and silver leather interior.

Said to present very well, this car we are told has been imported from Ireland and will be supplied with a Nova number, a valid UK MoT certificate which expires May 2016 and is ready to be registered in the UK.

Offered for sale is a .998L 1989 Austin Rover Mini Moke manual that has been with the current owner for the last 3 years. Coming with no history file, this lot's condition scores 78 / 135.

Classic Car Auctions says:
The 'Red One'

A very desirable Mini Moke.
This 1989 Moke has been with the current vendor for the past three years and was used as transport at their holiday villa in Crete. This is one of a pair being offered as they are now UK based. Both cars will require UK registering but have had customs clearance. This particular Moke has had a new interior and a new complete soft top fitted and has recently had new brakes and a complete undercarriage overhaul. They will both require MOTs as they have both expired, but will be ready to use for the next season. We are led to believe that both cars do drive well and with a small amount of work could well be a good investment. Mokes are specialised fun cars suited to warmer climes but always stand out and make people smile.

1964 Morris Mini
Lot: 185
No reserve

Offered for sale is a .848L 1964 Morris Mini manual that has been with the current owner for the last 51 years. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores 46 / 135.

Classic Car Auctions says:
548 LOV was born on the 28th of February 1964 and cost the princely sum of £388.11 to include the optional extra of a heater unit with fresh air!!This car was given to the current vendor for a 21st birthday present and has remained in his ownership for the last 51 years. This is the same owner as the Austin Seven also in our auction and has again that all so important Buff Logbook along with the newer V5.

The current vendor was Mr. Mini at the Longbridge plant (mini track chief supervisor), and so all the maintenance work was carried out by him over its years on the road. However, the car is in need of rebuilding as it was stripped in readiness for this work to commence just prior to the vendor being taken ill. We believe that all the necessary parts are there to complete the build and looking at the bodywork and the usual problematic areas, these do not appear on a cursory inspection too bad at all, so this may be a very good base to work from. 'Early Mini Fever' is alive and well and bear in mind that this is a 'one owner', very desirable 1964 Morris Mini.

Offered for sale is a 1.38L 1993 Rover Mini Sprite manual that has been with the current owner for over 10 years. Coming with no history file, this lot's condition scores an impressive 98 / 135.

Classic Car Auctions says:
A fabulous, recently restored Mini Sprite.
This wonderfully presented 'pocket rocket' was the subject of a total rebuild by its current vendor, who has owned it for some 11 years and during that time has lavished around £15,000 on this amazing Mini. The bodywork, with the exception of the roof and the rear quarters, is all new covering all the traditional Mini weak points and the engine has been carefully upgraded and now has a capacity of 1380cc. To finish the car off the interior is now completely bespoke including new bucket seating in black piped with blue, a really 'cool' dash housing additional guages, a good sound system and finally the car was treated to a fresh coat of MG Trophy Blue with painted Siver stripes and wheel arch extensions. The car has only travelled some 500 miles since the rebuild.
