Rockingham 23/24 May for Coopers

The MINI Challenge had not been to Rockingham for at 5 years. This time the high speed circuit was ready for a pack of 15 MINI Coopers, with most drivers not having driven here before.  The main straight and Bend 1 are for all basically flat out, braking nicely onto a very wide hairpin with an ample run off space if you leave braking a little too late.  The infield is full of curves, hairpins and the odd straight followed by a chicane before you go back onto the oval.

The second round of MINI Challenge racing was split between the different classes, with the new Generation 3 MINIs and JCWs racing at Brands Hatch on May 9-10 and the Coopers competing at Rockingham on May 23-24.

The Desafío Ruta 40 is one of the most difficult rallies of the whole season and pushes every competitor to the limits. The five-day event was also for the two MINI ALL4 Racing crews Orlando Terranova/ Bernardo Ronnie Graue and Lucio Alvarez / Sebastian Halpern (all ARG) a huge challenge. But both managed to stay ahead of everybody in front of their home-crowd: Terranova and Graue finished first, Alvarez and Halpern in second position.

Round two of the HRCR Mini Cup Challenge, six Minis entered the rally with love:mini's Clive King extending his lead by brigning his Mini home first. First in class and 20th overall with a respectable time of 45-minutes and 22 seconds to complete all 10 stages.
